Philanthropy and Community Involvement

As a firm, Ramirez strongly believes in helping strengthen the communities from which we came by giving of our time, skills, expertise and financial resources. As one of the oldest and largest Hispanic institutions on Wall Street, we are proud of our origins and strive to lead the way in benefiting those most in need. Throughout our 45 years in business, the Ramirez family and Ramirez employees have consistently dedicated time and resources to a diverse group of charities, causes, communities and religious organizations nationwide.

Ramirez has developed internal programs and participates in others to encourage minority high school and college students to explore careers in finance. This includes the Municipal Forum’s “Futures and Options” program. "Futures and Options" gives minority high school students the opportunity to work as interns in New York City at financial companies, rating agencies, bond insurers and law firms. Ramirez's senior management shares knowledge and expertise with the young people who intern with us throughout the year.

Senior members of the firm also serve on the boards of a number of not-for-profit organizations. Sam Ramirez, Sr., has served as a director and past president of the Catholic Big Sisters and Big Brothers of New York, which in June 2016 honored him for his years of dedicated service. Also in 2016, the LSA Family Health Service honored Mr. Ramirez and his wife, Diane Ramirez, CEO of Halstead Property, for their philanthropic commitment to improving the quality of life for vulnerable New Yorkers. Mr. Ramirez has also been a benefactor and honoree of the Valerie Fund, an organization that provides programs and activities for children with cancer.
